OCR has never been so easy !

OCR Terminal is an online OCR service that allows you to convert PDF to Word, JPEG to Word and scanned images into editable documents.

Whenever you need to edit a scanned document, using OCR Terminal will transform it into a text document which is the fastest and simplest way to do avoid retyping.

You can use OCR Terminal to convert scanned documents, photographed documents, faxes, multi-page PDFs and TIFFs into editable documents.

OCR Terminal also accurately preserves the formatting and page layout so that tables, images, captions and headers are accurately replicated in the processed files.

But one of the most interesting feature, especially if you want to archive large collections of scanned PDF files (including documents) is to transform Image-PDF files to Image-and-text-PDF files so that they can be text-searchable and indexed succesfully with software like Google Desktop

OCRTerminal can be used for free with a limit of 20 pages for month. You can also buy additional credits for recognizing more pages with the OCR tool.

Use OCRTerminal at www.OcrTerminal.com

Tammy Gotcha is quite a clever play on word “Tamagotchi” which means in Japanese : “Small friendly virtual pet you will want to take care of”. I always thought Japanese was a nice compact language

Goal of the game

This is a virtual pet game. You have to feed, cure, and play with Tammy. Keep it happy and he will live a long time ! Game suggested for children, Tammy Gotcha is a freeware.

Downloads

Tammy Gotcha was released in 1997 (!) and works with Windows 95.
It can be run with later versions of Windows with some adjustments (VB libraries, compatibility mode, emulator)

Download Tammy Gotcha ! french version

Download Tammy Gotcha ! english version

Find reviews of Tammy Gotcha with Google

Behind the story

Tammy Gotcha was my first real game released with a setup package.
I did in two days with Visual Basic 5, and released it in December 1997.

Tammy Gotcha has been downloaded dozens of thousands times from all around the world and I received letters of young players interested in this game, from Sweden, Canada, Norway, Australia and USA…

Since 1997 I’ve been thinking about releasing a new version, but I’ve never done it so far because I couldn’t make my choice about a new programming language : there was always a new one upcoming on the market.

The next version of Tammy Gotcha is yet unplanned but maybe someday I’ll release it…

What is the common point between these wind generators and my website ?

Well, the formers power the latter.

A word about Green Hosting

Green Hosting, also known as Eco-friendly hosting, is to the internet what organic agriculture is to the food industry : sustainable and ecological.

A green hosting company runs web servers with electricity produced from a renewable source, for example sun or wind.

As estimated by this article on Wikipedia :

The total electric bill to operate web servers and related infrastructure equipment was $2.7 billion in the United States and $7.2 billion worldwide. If energy consumption related to web hosting keeps raising at the current rate by 2020, the industry will be more polluting than the airline industry.

Obviously, choosing a green host is not only a matter of good conscience, it’s necessary to preserve the environmental resources.

How to choose a green host ?
