If you need to clean your mail server from unwanted messages, virus-containing messages, bug-generating mail or messages with large filesize, then POP3 Cleaner is for you.

POP3 Cleaner is useful :

- when you want to preview your mail and delete selected messages before downloading them

- when a mail contains a virus and you want to be sure to delete it from the mail server

- when you want to destroy very big filesize messages you don't want to download

- if your POP3 mail server is unreachable with a classic e-mail client or if a message refuses to be downloaded because of a transmission error when the server received the message from a realy. POP3 Cleaner can help you to get rid of this horrible message and even let you know who sent it to you !

POP3 Cleaner lets you preview and delete your mail. Every message is shown with its filesize, sender and subject.

How to use POP3 Cleaner (requirements, using the tool)

To run POP3 Cleaner, you need a IBM-PC based computer with Windows 95, 98, NT, or 2000. 468 DX2/66 CPU, 16MB of memory and 256 colors display seem to be a minimum.

POP3 Cleaner hasn't been tested under Windows Millenium. As this program is still a beta version, please send comments about POP3 Cleaner's behaviour under Windows Millenium. Thanks !

To use POP3 Cleaner, you just need to fill in your mail server host name and account information, then preview your mail. You can then delete your messages.

Known bugs of POP3 Cleaner

POP3 Cleaner is still a beta version. Known problems are :

- in case of invalid host, unreachable host or bad account information, POP3 Cleaner might show you error messages written in French. This is due to the making of this tool with a french version of Delphi.

- you can only delete mail messages one by one and not select several ones at the same time

- POP3 Cleaner doesn't verify a mail message is still there or has the same ID before deleting it. This means if ever you receive new mail while you are using POP3 Cleaner, your mail server may reaffect ID numbers and you might delete a message instead of another one. This is a very improbable problem but may happen if you receive many mail. Flags and securities algorithms will be released in the next version.
