Some of you may know I am French. French language
contains accentuated letters like "é", "à","ç",
etc...
The problem is that those letters should not be
written "like that" in HTML pages because some user agents
may not use the same language codepage than ISO 8859-1.
So we need to write é instead of é
, "e; instead of " , etc...
Ext-HTML provides the entity names and hexadecimal
codes to use for a lot of extended characters, mathematic symbols
and currency units. I made this tool because I couldn't find a friendly
way to find the corresponding codes to characters other than browsing
the ISO and W3C codepages.
How to use Ext-HTML (requirements, using the tool)
To run Ext-HTML, you need a IBM-PC based computer
with Windows 95 or later version. 468 DX2/66 CPU, 8 MB of memory
and 256 colors display seem to be a minimum.
To use Ext-HTML, just install it and click on the
corresponding buttons to obtain the SGML code/entity name.
Known bugs of Ext-HTML
