Tammy Gotcha is quite a clever play on word "Tamagotchi" which means in Japanese : "Small friendly virtual pet you will want to take care of". Always thought Japanese was a nice compact language. Lol ;-)

Tammy Gotcha was my first real game, with a setup package and an interesting gameplay. I did in two days with Visual Basic 5 (believe it or not !)

Made in late 1997, Tammy Gotcha has been downloaded more than 10.000 times from all around the world and I received many letters and e-mails, especially from Suede, Canada, Norway, Australia, USA...

I always said I would release updates or new versions. It has never been done because I was lazy, or I had much work with my studies. One day, I swear it, I will release another version of Tammy Gotcha ! Be sure of it ! ;-)

How to play Tammy Gotcha (requirements, gameplay)

To run Tammy Gotcha, you need a IBM-PC based computer with Windows 95 or later version. 468 DX2/66 CPU, 8 MB of memory and 256 colors display seem to be a minimum.

The gameplay is easy to understand because I saw children of 6 years playing Tammy Gotcha.

You have to take care of Tammy, a little blue fish. You need to feed him when it's hungry, clean its place when its dirty, give it lessons and play with it. And be nice with it, don't hit it, even if it's funny to do, okay ? ;-)

Known bugs of Tammy Gotcha

There were some problems reported with Tammy Gotcha. Here is a list.

Error messages which make the game unavailable
Some people can't run the game on given computers and they get general protection fault errors. This seems to happen on a case-by-case basis. Nothing can be done to fix this, unless trying to reinstall Windows or trying to identify the software/hardware which could cause this problem. This is a very rare problem.

The game isn't correctly unloaded from memory when leaving
Sometimes, the game stays in the memory even after leaving the application. This can be fixed by hitting CTRL+ALT+DEL and by ending task of "Tammygotcha".

Display bug under Windows 98 (and maybe Windows 2000)
I made the game under Windows 95. When I upgraded to Windows 98, I couldn't see Tammy during the gameplay. It seems that the sprite of Tammy is not displayed during the gameplay. This is particularly sad because it's a nice blue fish. Try to see if Tammy is on your screen when you play. It's not a bothering bug since you still can play, but you won't see when Tammy is ill, only when it cries...

Saving game isn't available
Not really a bug, but I didn't know at that time how to save the game in a file. I know how to do it properly now, but you will need to wait the next Tammy Gotcha version, be patient :-)
